Dr. Monnie Chan was born in Hong Kong. Mainly self taught on composing. Not being supported by her family, she worked part time to support her studies since 16 years old in UK. She gained her Doctoral degree (Ph.D. in music education) in 2012. Dr. Chan is now living in Malta with her Italian Spanish husband. As an author and CD pianist since 1993, she has published 41 books and 20 piano solo CDs so far. Main awards gained…

Dr. Chan’s composing style is international, She had traveled over 30 countries before started to give master classes and seminars in China since 2009. Six years later in 2015, the China Post issued her personal stamps and postcard (20,000 sets). In July 2019, she attended the Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer’s online masterclass and shared her compositions inspired by his teaching in the HZ Community. In July 2020, she became one of the backbone members in the Community. Gaining encouraging comments and supports from a number of filmmakers in the Community, she started this YouTube Channel in August 2020 to share her music.

陳月紅博士來自香港，作曲方面主要是自學。出生於極之重男輕女的家庭，在16歲被外婆保送英國，投靠親人及半工讀，2012年獲博士學位(音樂教育)，現在和她的意大利、西班牙混血丈夫，住在馬爾他。自1993年起，以作家及 CD 演奏家身份，至今共出版了41本書及20張CDs.

《續: 自求多福》

自由。是人生的基本權利，卻又是最難能可貴的。

看了幾段新聞及一些評論，其中有一段值得深思: 要遠離不斷否定你的人(不論關係如何親密)，因為最終的目的不外乎踩低你的價值，以達致控制你的目的。

幸福不是必然的，能夠靠自己並生活得合意的，就得要從自強及信任自己的選擇開始。共勉。

在2020年三月中起，Malta 因新冠而 lockdown ，我静心寫曲，截至昨天我寫了超過 200首新歌, 繼續錄音及編寫成樂譜 (可能需時兩三年)。

在此我分享一年的總結: 2020是特殊的一年。記得在《彈琴心法》書內，我有提及人類學家在上世紀預言，21世紀將是人心和細菌 (病毒) 的鬥爭。人心不古之外，共業也到來; 在這個大環境下，得以生存，相信已經是很有福氣的了。如何排除無力感而有所作為，是大學問。

2020年，對我來說是非常特殊的一年，因為夫婿是在地中海小島國 Malta (馬爾他) 出生的意、西混血兒 (我來自香港，我俩在2019年12月結婚，都是二婚)，剛好避過了香港的動亂。但因為疫情，停止了教鋼琴的工作，專心照顧長期病患的丈夫，及寫曲。專心寫曲的人生計劃，比預期早了二十年。

塞翁失馬，焉知非福。
